Amble is a new kind of language company.

We believe that language is the instrument of culture. You can't separate one from the other. France isn’t France without French. Japan isn’t Japan without Japanese. Language is how we come to belong.

Most tools teach you to memorize vocabulary or tap your way through a cartoon world. Amble teaches you to live in the language. We build immersive, personalized digital environments where you can explore culture through language and language through culture. The experience is made possible through conversational voice AI and rooted in real people, places, and ideas. No two journeys are alike.

We're building a bridge between personal language learning and cultural media. We’re hiring a founding product designer to help us invent the medium.

This isn’t a role about shipping incrementally better language features. It’s about defining the next wave of cultural and educational media. You’ll be designing at the edge of voice, adaptive AI, editorial storytelling, and interaction design. You'll work directly with the founders to define what this product feels like in the hand and sounds like in the ear. You’ll bring warmth, structure, and taste to a product that spans both learning and entertainment.

We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about the details and the philosophy. Someone who understands that design is not just how something looks, but how it teaches, how it feels, how it becomes part of someone’s daily rhythm. Someone who is curious about the future of education and culture, but not chasing trends.

Role and Qualifications

As the first and only Founding Product Designer at Amble, you will be instrumental in shaping the overall product vision. You will design intuitive and simple interfaces on top of an agentic system for voice, image, and text AI — transforming technical complexity into simplicity. You will steer design decisions informed by a comprehensive understanding of customers' needs. You will have the autonomy to push design principles forward based on new capabilities made possible by generative AI, but in a way that remains unwaveringly human-centered.

This is an individual contributor role. While there may be room for growth of the team as we scale, this will be the only full-time design role for the foreseeable future.
